Wow, Now I see why it's such a popular clematis. Had to share. :)

One next door lived a long time with little attention. Used to bloom on the fence.

    it IS gorgeous, isn't it?

mine had barely a showing last year and only a few small flowers the year before. dunno why as it's been growing/blooming nicely for years. i thought it was going to end up dieing.

not so! this year it's bounced back and has put on a beautful show...flowers are still lovely and it's been two now. i do have a pic - will upload it later when i'm on my comp at home.

I'd love to see other pics. This is the first year and it has 4 flower heads now. Will they get more or just the one showing? Either way I was so impressed! Such a large flower and outstanding color. Perhaps just the beginning of a clematis addition. :)
