Hi, This winter I supervised a landscape project for a church. They planted some Nellie Stevens Hollies about a month ago towards the end of January. We had some very cold days. Now their leaves are turning brown on everyone that was planted. Any Idea's why? They were planted by volunteers but to the best I could tell they were planted properly. Is this normal for planting these in the dead of winter?

    Thanks,
    Brian

Ilex cornuta hybrid which I'd never plant mid-Winter. Even pines that are freeze hardy
will Winter burn if planted in frozen ground.
