I have a mature blue spruce that has been loosing its needles over the last six months. I suspect that it could be a spruce mite. I noticed that my neighbour little spruce was almost totally bare of its needles and think it may have infected my tree. What can you suggest.

If a pest, as is often the case with Colorado spruce on the wet side of the mountains examine closely for signs of these. Try using a hand lens. A common tendency is for older leaves to be killed while those near branch tips remain. If whole branches are going brown to the ends perhaps there is a disease problem instead/as well.

This sounds like what is happening with my blue spruce, some small branches are all dead and some are only in the middle, new growth is coming out nicely . Did the oil work I wonder..
