    Hi,

I am new to this forum and I'm a beginner gardener!

I have a cedar hedge that is in very poor shape. It gets minimal sun as it is shaded by a giant cedar tree. It grows along a fence and does not provide privacy as it was intended to (because of the lack of sunlight).

I want to replace it with something that likes shade and tolerates acidic soil caused by the cedar tree droppings. I also have a dog so I want to stear clear of anything poisonous. The area gets a lot of moisure so drought would not be an issue.

    Thanks!
