Someone came into my work and dropped this cactus off because he no longer had any room for it. I cannot seem to be able to identify it, he said he has had it for about 30 years or so. Any help would be greatly appeciated, im hoping i can get it back to being healthy and blooming. Thank you

    P.S
Sorry for the bad picture quatily, the only time i have been able to take one has been at night.

Looks like a badly abused Echinopsis.

Will take a few years for the new growth to grow into normal looking plants.

Thanks for the reply, i have actually propagated quite a few smaller plants from it, they are looking quite nice. I assumed the man who gave it to me didn't take very good care of it, hopefully i will be able to get him healthy again. Thanks again

Get who healthy again? The man or the plant?

The plant wasn't just neglected, it was abused.

It will take years for the stems to look normal again. They should be spherical not elongated. Don't expect blooms any time soon.
