Hello everyone, I had a post some time ago but moved to wonderful Utah and am once again in search of some help identifying a flowering shrub that grew on the family farm in Alabama. I have no pictures of the plant since it was so long ago, but here is what I do remember 1. The shrub was about 15ft high, but we never trimmed anything it just grew by the house 2. It had deep very dark burgandy/purple flowers with a light wonderful smell 3. The flowers had narrow, needle shaped petals. 4. The flowers faced upward along the branches in a large amount 5. The leaves were a dark green, with a mildly waxy finish. Thanks for any help!!!
