Hello everyone, I was hoping someone would help me identify this plant. I am an apartment dweller so I do container gardening. I stupidly only labeled about half of my plantings from seeds. I cannot seem to figure out what this is. Any help would be a great benefit. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Looks like Pigweed (Amaranth of some sort) to me - superficially, I'd say Spinach but the flowers are all wrong.
I wonder if its something a bird dropped off? I am pretty sure I did not plant whatever the heck it is.
Very possible. It's edible, you know - the young leaves are very similar to spinach but without the bitter taste.
