So this plant has a bit of a story behind it. I inherited it from my great-great-grandmother about a year ago after she passed. After bringing it home, I just let it sit in a pot with a little clump of dirt for months. I maybe watered it twice in ten months. The stupid plant flourished and loved the care it wasn't receiving. So anyway. This plant has been with me for a while and I've finally come to terms with the fact that it isn't going to die anytime soon. I'd like to finally ID the plant, sorry that the picture isn't all that good. Here is a run-down of it's built-in features. -Doesn't die. -Doesn't need much water. -Has fat, teardrop shaped leaves. -Leaves are a light green (they look darker in the picture). -Is currently growing what looks like roots from it's branches (not visible in the picture). -Kind of looks like a bonsai tree, but not. Thanks for any help I get :)
Looks like one of the Jade plants, maybe Crassula ovata. Google that and see what you think. ;)) barb
defintely crassula obavata. VERY easy to grow with minimal effort - as you've learned! the leaves will become a more natural darker green if you give it brighter lighting. i would move it into better lighting gradually, though, or it could go into a bit of shock. some varieties even get a red tone to them when they're in full sun (the edges of the leaves get red, not the whole thing).
