Please see attached. The leaf is from a plant nearly 10 feet tall in a large pot inside an office of our business. We feel it maybe the source of a Cat (animal) toxin. Please help so that we can indentify this as the source or move onto another potential source. Thank you all in advance John Backus Webster, MA
Can you get a picture of the whole plant? It will be much much easier to ID it and thereby determine its toxicity if we can see the whole thing. Is that leaf from a circluarly arranged bundle, or is it a single?
Sorry about the quality, but I had to take it from my phone as I dont have a camera with me today. Thank you very much for your help! John Backus Webster, MA
That's a Schefflera (Umbrella plant) - so far as I know they're not toxic to cats. Certainly, mine has sampled Schefflera before with no ill effect. On a care and feeding note, that one needs more water and a bit more direct sunlight. It should be much smoother and glossier.
Wow, this process was far quicker than I had anticipated. Thank you very much for your help and for your help in taking better care of this plant. You Rock! John
