I second the Yucca, most likely a Yucca aloifolia. . .common names Spanish bayonet or Dagger Plant. Needs about 3-4 hours of sunshine each day. Normal room temperatures. Plentiful water during the active growth period (spring, summer and fall); sparingly in the winter rest period. Standard liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks during active growth period. I used to have one of them. I had to give it away when we moved, it was too big to take. I liked to put mine outside in the summertime.
