I second the Yucca, most likely a Yucca aloifolia. . .common names Spanish bayonet or Dagger Plant. Needs about 3-4 hours of sunshine each day. Normal room temperatures. Plentiful water during the active growth period (spring, summer and fall); sparingly in the winter rest period. Standard liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks during active growth period.

I used to have one of them. I had to give it away when we moved, it was too big to take. I liked to put mine outside in the summertime.

Thank you both. I think the name Spanish Dagger or Spanish Bayonet is "more romantic" than Spineless Yucca Cane! (different variety?) ... Thanks again.
