Anyone know what this plant is as I want some info on it. It is about 5 years old and loses it's leaves sometimes so it is left with just spikes. But when it starts to grow again it will sprout leaves and soft spikes.

It has been doing very well this year with all the new growth, But I have two problems.

The leaves at the top of the main pillar can not seem to grow as soon as they sprout they go black and crispy. Also the large leaves on the bottom are just starting to go yellow.

    Any ideas?
