Please help my wife and I identify this flowering plant that is in front of our condo complex. We are in southern Florida and enjoy this plant. For scale, each curve of the stones around the base is 4 inches across. Then we have to find if we can propagate it. Rob
Thank you, that does look like our plant. We came across the Golden Trumpet plant in our searching, but the description of it as a vine did not match. It has been that same three foot tall plant for years with no pruning. It also does not have white in the throat of the flowers. It also has no noticeable smell. Perhaps it is a variety of this that does not like our dry, silty soil. I will try to take more photos after work today. Rob
Bush Allamanda is Allamanda schottii. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Al...&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1271&bih=533 http://starrenvironmental.com/images/species/?q=allamanda+schottii&o=plants Maybe it is Allamanda schotti compacta. http://toptropicals.com/catalog/uid/allamanda_schottii.htm
Thank you. The descriptions and pictures of the dwarf shrub golden trumpet, Allamanda cathartica 'Hendersonii' or Allamanda schotti 'Compacta' (I found both names while searching the dwarf variety) match quite well. Size is correct as well. We are happy to know what it is and have found sites on propagating it as well. Rob
