Hello, I am hoping someone on here may be able to help me. Just yesterday, I rescued a cactus from the clearance rack at my local Lowes. Unfortunately, as some of you may have already guessed, it was suffering from rot due to overwatering, mostly in the roots. I have already researched on the web about how to treat this problem and, hopefully, it will be ok - but for now, I am stuck with a cactus that I know nothing about (aside from how to treat it for rot). I have taken some photos of the intact pieces in hopes that someone on here could identify it for me. After looking through SEVERAL (as in a few hundred) images online, I think I've narrowed it down to the Mammillaria genera, but I am unsure as to the species. It looks similar to either the geminispina, glochidiata, goodridgei or grahamii, but in each case, there is something about it that doesn't quite look the same. If someone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!

It looks to me like Mammillaria elongata, but I can't say for certain.

Hey, great! I had seen pictures of that particular species, but the photos I saw before were obviously a different variation than what I have. Thanks a lot!!
