You guys are so good and quick at identifying everything. This will probably be a cinch for you. Thank you!!!!!
Possibly Solanum rostratum. Common names Buffalobur or Kansas thistle. See http://plants.usda.gov/cgi_bin/topics.cgi?earl=plant_profile.cgi&symbol=SORO and http://www.keiriosity.com/solanaceae/solanum_rostratum.htm for a comparison. Harry
Not really that incredible. :) Came across it while looking for another unknown, Solanum viarum, a couple of weeks back. Both have the "thorny leaves", which I did a google image search on. Sometimes it's just serendipity. Harry
from The California Plant Names page. I have been accused of being somnambulistic, but have yet to resort to narcotics. :) Harry
[So- I could go outside, grab a few leaves- make a soup out of them and get a good night's sleep?[ ;-)
