    Hello all,
Can someone help me to ID this beautiful maple? Is it Sumi nagashi ?
This tree is about 10' tall and 5 ' wide, exposes to full sun in Zone 6A.
    Thanks,

    Joe

    Joe,

That plant looks very content! It seems a little different than a 'Sumi nagashi' that I grow. Pic coming.

Hi Joe, beautiful photo, your leaves look similar to the 'Sumi nagashi' leaves here, other than here basically the 2 basal lobes seem much shorter in comparison to the other leaf lobes. Maybe the growth here is a little more advanced than on your tree . Just guesses, hard to be sure, wondering if it's grafted or possibly cutting grown. Molto bello ! , right alex.

This 'Sumi nagashi' is not grown in full sun.

Back here the plants look a lil different as well.

The tapering of the lobes is not the same and also as Chimera noted the basal leaves are different, less of a whirl form.

No doubt there are several forms of SN.

Hi Alex, It's hard to tell if it is grafted, cutting or seedling. Joe

I already have a Suminagashi, but my best gess is that it could be 'Burgundy lace'. (At less it looks similar to my two BL cultivars)

Leaf colour is not reminiscent of Burgundy Lace
