This plant appears to be dying. I have no idea what it is, although (from some help in another forum) it may be in the Echeveria family.

I need to know what this is, what might be wrong with it, how to make it better, and then how to take care of it moving forward.

    thanks

I want to say Sedum.... It looks like it's drowning and light-starved to me; I'd re-pot it into cactus soil and stick it in a sunny windowsill, then neglect it for at least 3 weeks.

could be a crassula, echevaria, graptopetalum, a cross or something else.

definitely is etoliated (not enough light) and it does look waterlogged. i concur with the repotting in proper soil as well as to place it in a sunny window and forget about it for a few weeks...
