My plant isn't doing so hot. It was fine before, but either due to over-watering or under-watering, it's started to shed all its leaves.

Could someone help me ID it so I can coax this thing back to full, robust life?

It seems to me like it was overwatered; at first look your pot is just a plastic bucket, so
I guess it doesn't allow excessive water to drain. Try to put it into another pot, a clay one preferably.

Hmm. I had been watering it once a week when the leaves at first started to fall out. When I stepped up the watering, it kind of sped up the process.

It's in a clay pot, but I don't think it drains very well.
