I bought one a few years ago in Portland, OR and it thrived indoors. I bought another when I moved to Chicago a few months ago and all of the leaves are falling off. It grows similar to this Philodendron http://www.southerntropicals.com/ga...hilodendron Panduraeforme 48'' x 10''_jpg.htm but I don't think it's a Philodendron. The leaves are not heart shaped. They don't curve in where it meets the stalk. It's more shaped like a football. The leaves are dark green and glossy. Any ideas? Thanks!
Maybe another philodendron, the link shows but one kind. Leaves all falling off is a sign of distress, maybe too wet or too cold. Some people drive down the street with their houseplants flapping around in the back of an open truck. Tropicals like philodendrons must be kept warm at all times.
Hi, Ron. Thanks for the idea. After searching through all the posts in this site (all 16 pages), the last page has what I think I have, a Ficus elastica, Indian Rubber Tree. Thanks for this great resource and I will look up some care suggestions for it to see if I can figure out what I'm doing wrong with it. THanks again!
