    Greetings,

I found this plant on Mt. Tabor in Portland. As part of a project for class, I need to identify several plants. I grabbed a photo of this, and a leaf sample. I have been through every page of Pojar, as well as the USDA plant identification website, with no luck.

I am convinced it is something simple, but i am just missing it somewhere. Perhaps someone around here can help me out.

    I greatly appreciate it.

Did you consider invasive species? I think that's Prunus laurocerasus.

I had considered invasive species, though I didn't see cherry laurel on the list for Mt Tabor.

It would seem likely that it is a Prunus laurocerasus. I will keep looking through images until I can find a confirming picture of the buds. Thanks!

Yes, I had already found similar ones as well.

    Thanks again for the help!

Resembles the much-planted 'Otto Luyken' cultivar, is perhaps a seedling of it.
