Need help identifying this plant!

    Can anyone tell me what this shrub is. Homeowner thinks it is evergreen and blooms clusters of small white flowers in the spring similar to a hawthorn.

    OK, I'm sure you are right. I'll have to read up on the differences. At least a synonym for it is Photinia deflexa.

    Photinia deflexa is a synonym of Eriobotrya deflexa. Although listed under Eriobotrya, the selection marketed under the Coppertone trademark is thought to be a bigeneric hybrid - as is the Monrovia plant. Specimen asked about here has hybrid foliage characteristics.
