    Hello everyone,

I bought this small plant in a local nursery, labeled as "assorted succulent". It grows very well and cuttings will root without failing. It looks a lot like samphyre green (Salicornia; I live near the Bay of Fundy). I use it as accent plant for my indoor bonsais and would like to tell others about it, but first I need a name. Google images did not help. Can you?

    Thanks in advance,
    Manny, in Moncton, NB

Here are two pictures of the same cluster around a Dracaena bonsai.

I'm not sure why the picture does not show on the original post, so I uploaded it again.

Lila, you just blew my mind. Thank you so much.

If you ever travel in this part of Canada in July or August, make sure to look for Samphyre greens in local markets. It is delicious, tastes like salted green beans. The Acadians call them "tetines de souris" (mouse nipples -- I kid you not).

Hm... Salicornia prostrata lives here (in Hungary) also, but I never tasted it... yet! :)

(It lives here in the special, salty and often very dry areas... for example in Hortobágy-region. This region is full of very interesting plants, so it's a "botanist-heaven"... :))) Pics here:http://www.hik.hu/tankonyvtar/site/books/b10107/ch02s05s01s01.html
