I need assistance in identifying what type of plant this is along with proper care.

It was given to me and appears that the leaves are dying....Can anyone help?

Could this be a dracaena massangeana? I have been surfing the net and it appears to be that but I need to know for sure as the leaves are turning brown and I want to revive it

I agree, it's a Yucca elephantipes, not a Dracaena.Yucca's like lots of sunshine so try to put it near a sunny window. Water well when soil is dry.

    Thanks for your help.

Now that I know what it is......I require assistance getting the plant healthy.

The leaves appear to be dying and turning brown......What kind of watering routine should I follow and is misting the plant a good idea?

Like mentioned, let the soil dry out between waterings. Pull, or cut off all the dead leaves, it will look so much better afterwords. Misting won't do anything but keep the leaves clean.
If you don't think your yucca was had any sun before, it will do ok in very bright light.
