Need help identifying a thorny shrub

    At the far end of our leech feild is a very tall, perhaps 25-30 ft, deciduous shrub. Its flowers and the growth pattern and shape of the leaves are very similar to those of a wisteria but it isn't a vine. It also has thorns, some on the trunk and larger branches that are up to an inch long. It's a beautiful bush and the flowers smell heavenly but I have no clue what it is.
