    Hi Guys,
not really sure what this is. My landlord recently had the water heater bust open and there has been alot of water sitting in the basement, this started growing in certain areas out of the concrete and has now gone into the sheetrock and has appeared in my apartment. Trying to find out if it poses a health risk. I've noticed that it emits a white a puff of smoke (spores i presume). I think whenever i make a loud noise near it after it has been sitting for some time. It seems to grow in or near standing water. i havent touched it with my bare hands, but it appears to be very wet and slimy. Almost like an algae or seaweed.

    Great thanks!
looks like thats what it most likely is. It seems pretty common actually, not sure why it was so hard for me to identify on the internet.
