I have this medium to large sized bush that I need to identify. I'm not very plant knowledgable so I don't have a clue what it is. There are four pictures of it in the Picasa album I set up (see link below). Hopefully those will help you identify it. https://picasaweb.google.com/107340...?authkey=Gv1sRgCPeRysTa9aXDGw&feat=directlink

Dannystwicked, it is possible and generally preferred to load your pics here directly. I guess people who do not have a Gmail or similar account cannot see your photos, although it looks like you have them set to allow anyone with the link to view. Anyway, here is the How to: http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=60953 Where is this plant growing? If Saltcedar is right, it is a Zone 7 plant and Blaire, NE is Zone 5.
I think Saltcedar is on the right track. It may not be a Mexican Redbud but I believe it's still some type of Redbud. I was initially confused because I didn't realize that Redbuds can grow like a bush, with many small "trunks". Eric, when I post again, I'll post the other pictures as a reply to my question rather than setting up a link to a Picasa album. Good idea...thanks.
If it is Mexican redbud, it may have frozen to the ground one or more times. That alone would account for the bushy nature. They are hardy to zone 6 so it's at least possible for it to survive in your location. Has it ever bloomed?
