Yes, there IS a lake with that name and it is north of Squamish, BC. So now that I have your attention, what is the name of this white (with markings!) lovely pictured below? A cluster of them.

E-Flora BC has "Euphrasia nemerosa", introduced from Europe. See photo below. I would not be the one able to differentiate it from E. officinalis.

There is some good information about these 'Eyebrights' on: Euphrasia officinalis – Eyebright | Wild Flowers | Species | Emorsgate Seeds – (01553) 829 028 including the fact that they are hemi-parasitic annuals. I was interested to learn that they are in the family Orobanchaceae because I have some others in my garden. No thanks to Euphrasia however.

FYI: Although Eyebright is sometimes used in homeopathic treatments, "use for eye conditions currently not recommended. Adverse effects include: mental confusion, headaches, eye pressure, redness and swelling of the eye . . . Euphrasia officinalis Eyebright PFAF Plant Database .

I'm glad you mentioned that you could not differentiate the one on E-Flora from officinalis...I looked that up too after the lead from "hortiphoto" and wasn't sure what to think!
I'm also glad for the extra details and references. Alas, I am disappointed this is yet another introduction from Europe - in a an place well off the beaten path.
