Would anyone out there have information regarding transplantation of our native trilliums? I have had to dig out what I believe are the rizomes from an old garden. I had no intention of taking them now but the local deer herd munched them down which would have made finding them in the fall difficult. I did replant them in a shaded area so I am hoping they will be ok. Would it be beneficial to mulch the area so as to cover the now eaten down stems? Thankyou for your help.

Mulching after planting is a good standard procedure anyway. Most plants do better if the soil is covered.
