Hello! I am new here and not very well versed in botany but I am conducting research into galls that may be present in Garry Oak ecosystems on Vancouver Island. I have been able to learn LOTS about the invasive Jumping Gall Wasp and it's tiny galls but am looking for information on other kinds of galls that maybe present on Garry Oaks, ones that are either native or at least more symbiotic to the environment and which produce the larger gall nuts/gall apples. If anyone has any insight I'd be very grateful!
There is this iNaturalist project: Galls of North America But, I think what you're really looking for, is this project ID Galls from Gallformers I always have time for people interested in galls :-)
Here are two I have found over the years in my Nanoose Bay garden - in addition to multitudes of tiny galls that appear most years (not last year though).
