Do they bloom only every four years, or is this the first bloom for the tree that you've been waiting for? I saw a different Napoleonaea species in Hawaii and was excited to add it to my collection of cauliflorous trees. That's not demonstrated in this photo, but that characteristic does apply to these.
Wendy - this is cauliflorous, although unable to tell from this picture. I believe the flower is sometimes at the leaf axil. This tree bloomed for the first time last year, but my timing was such that got only photo of spent flower.
