Tuesday, October 24th, 2017 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Nature Nanaimo is excited to be hosting our first public meeting with a fall presentation on “Mushroom Madness.” We will be introducing Nature Nanaimo and hope to have a lively discussion of ideas for our new club. We will also be announcing some of the activities that we are already planning for the coming year. For the presentation portion of the evening, Joyce Lee will share her expertise as we celebrate the fungus among us and get a close-up and hands-on look at local fall mushrooms. As you will learn, fungi are a fascinating and very diverse group of organisms! From delicious delicacies to potent and poisonous, they range in size from microscopic single cells to massive organisms - yet most remain largely hidden from view. For those wishing to bring in their own mushrooms for identification and discussion - place your samples in a bag with your name, the collection date and location. Nature Nanaimo
