I can usually name most garden or wild flowers, but this one has me stumped. I got these starts from a neighbor who couldn't remember the name. The adult plants are about 4 feet tall and 4 feet wide with these beautiful hanging blooms that she said could be cut and dried. It reminds me of Astilbe, but I've never seen any that hang down. I'm anxious for a solution to the puzzle. Thanks, Gardengal22

Definitely an Amaranth. Reminds me strongly of Quinua.

Thanks to all for solving the puzzle. It's a relief to be able to find the suitable conditions for planting and taking care of such beautiful plants. I was at a loss and the information I've gotten here is much appreciated! Gardengal22
