I believe this plant to be a Rudbeckia, but which one? The single bloom photo is what is looks like at the beginning of the season. The other photo was taken sometime in September. Can anyone help me out?
It's an interesting variety of Rudbeckia fulgida. I've seen 'Goldstrum' that blended to orange in the centre but not with such a distinctive transition. Very nice. Les
I've done some more research thanks to your contribution of information and I think I've found it. Rudbeckia fulgida var. speciosa 'Viette's Little Suzy'. I've found a photo that actually shows the leaves, (which is very hard to do seeing as most sites only show the blooms) This one of my favorite plants in my garden, and the finches love it as well. Thanks again for all your help. Ing
I've come across another name Rudbeckia fulgida var newmanii, as Les had mentioned. Both seem to have the same compact bloom and long narrow leaves.
