Name of Purple Flower

    Yep, I'm fairly certain it's Ruellia brittoniana.

    Ubiquitous in Florida, reseeds very easily. Flowers open early and drop in the afternoon. You can find hybrids that are small and compact, and some with a pink flower, too. Mine will persist through winter. While people call this Mexican petunia, it's not related to Petunia at all.
