Hello, My neighbor has just dug up some ferns and found some small tubers underneath. They look very like small new potatoes and have very small eyes. Some are attached to a very thin root. I planted them all up before I thought of photographing them but can did one up if necessary. I guess the question is, do ferns make tubers? Thank You , Mrs. Bullseye

Mrs. Bullseye, ferns do not grow from tubers but from rhizomes. Some varieties can, I suppose, look similar to potato. I would venture to say that what you planted are the rhizomes from whatever variety of fern your neighbor dug up and you will soon have ferns growing at your place. :)
