Hello, This plant was a stowaway on another plant I bought at S.F. botanical gardens. Please help me identify this one. It's thriving in my shade garden. Ants seem to like it. Thanks in advance, Maricela
Hello, Excuse my ignorance. What cultivar of impatiens is this plant? When I look up impatiens sp. on the internet, I get images of the common impatiens sold at the local markets. I found something called impatiens grandiflora that looks closer to the plant I have. Thanks for your help, Maricela
I put "sp." because I can't say which one it is, for sure. Coming from a botanic garden, it could be a rare one I have not seen, plus your photo isn't close enough to make out fine details. As a starting point, compare with Impatiens glandulifera.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. If I can't find it, I will take some close up pictures and post those for more help indentifying it. Maricela
what ever it is it is really cool , it does look like the invasive plant i have in my yard(which i can't remember the name of.. i will look, but the flowers are in a different local, yours all along the stem mine all on top. heck you could send some seeds my way i love cool and interesting plants!! if it lives great inthe shade with no care it is a keeper forsure!
Yes, I think you have it correct. Or, at least it definitely looks like it. Thanks so much! -Maricela
