I found this flower in my garden today, and I have no idea where it came from. I live in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains. This garden receives full sun and has typical Georgia red clay. The plant is between two full shrubs. It has sent out long shoots and flowered after they emerged from the bush. I would like to know what the plant is, if it is a perennial, and how to help it multiply. Thanks
Looks like Campanula medium Canterbury Bells. Here's a site for information on care and propagation: http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/38/
Thank you so much! You appear to be absolutely right. I have no idea how they got there, but I'm going to look for more. The site you sent me to said they are biennial. I hate to think that I might have weeded some out last year! I really appreciate the help.
