I just moved in to a new place with a flower bed in the yard. It had 3 existing plants that I was not sure of their species so I left them be. I posted some pictures of them below if someone could help me identify them so I can either get rid of them if they are weeds or tend to them properly otherwise. Thank you

They like something in the Mint family. Do the leaves have any particular smell when you rub them?

No scent when I rub them I thought it might be mint as well. They have woody stems that were cut down last year at the base.

    Re: Hydrangea?

I don't think this is a hydrangea, it looks like a Dahlia? Dig into the soil with care, and if you feel a tuber, it is a Dahlia.... Hydrangeas will grow from last years wood....and form a shrub shape... this has tender shoots with sprouting....written all over it....

Are the stems square? If so, mint family.
