mystery plants.JPG I was given some seeds and planted them. I was told they were poppy seeds. Anyone know what these are? They are 3 to 4 feet tall already. I hope I'm not growing a bunch of weeds.

Post under a diff. title - ie. Mystery Plant, because I almost didn't open your post thinking I'd only see a bunch of seeds, which are usually hard to identify alone.

Ok, Rima, good idea. I will try to change the title.

I changed the title on the thread, users can only change titles of posts.

Looks like some type of amaranth to me. I take it, it has grown a lot since the photo was taken? If no one id's it right away, post a photo of the flowers.

Thankyou. Here are some recent pictures. It has grown fast. It looks kinda weedy to me.

Reminds me of a potato vine, but I guess that's not much help!

I can confirm it's in the Amaranthaceae - need the flowers to fully develop though, to ID. Some are ornamental, many are weedy.

Thanks Daniel. Now I will pull some of them out because they are much too tall and shading my cantaluope.
