?L?5?s hoping someone out there can help me identify this plant which I recently spotted flowering in a public park in Vancouver BC. I've never noticed anything like it before. It's obviously very showy and was over 6-feet high by about 5-feet in width, and flowers in August. None of the stems looked hardened so I am guessing it dies back to the ground in the winter in our climate. It was getting part (morning) sun in a fairly dry location. I've never noticed anything quite like this before. Thanks!
