In The Garden: Mystery Plant in our back yard

    A "new" plant sprouted in our garden about 6 years ago and we cannot identify it. It blooms in early spring and only started blooming a few years ago. Would appreciate help in identifying it.

    Well that was quick! Thanks very much. Not sure how it got here since we certainly didn't plant it and don't ever remember seeing it when we moved here 10+ years ago.

    Perhaps the former owner planted one and the original bulb shattered? You may now be seeing the blooming-sized offset bulbs?
