Kinda new to gardening, I planted tons of different seeds and other plants in some new beds. This plant is growing quite well, but i don't reckognize it. My girlriend thinks it is a weed. Is it?

There are two of them in this picture, they have broad leafs, kinda ovate shape, and a red tinge on the underside of the leaves.

    Thanks for any help.

Possibly pokeweed (Phytolacca), but I'm not sure.
