Identification: Mystery "Blue Nancy" Flower

    I purchased this blue flowering plant from an Amish farm about 20 years ago. I cut it back each winter with no watering, bring it out in the spring, and it comes back to life each year. When I purchased it, they called it Blue Nancy.

    Surely a gesneriad. Looks like some type of Achimenes, probably one of the nice hybrids.

    Nellie, I merged your two threads here. I think it is less confusing for readers if we keep the conversation in one place.

    Achimenes were more commonly grown in the past--it is an old time favourite. They are more popular in Europe than America. People should try this plant. That said, I have never grown it--I guess it will go on my list to order.
