Hi, I'm new here, and I was wondering if someone could help me answer a question. I got this plant at Tops last week, and the only identification it had was a little tag with "Year of the Ox" in Chinese on it.......we have no idea how to care for this plant, so far I've been treating it like a bamboo since it's planted in rocks, but I was hoping someone might know what it was and if I should repot it and how better to care for whatever it is. Thanks, and hello! hehehe Mars
Castanospermum australe alright (the common name is Blackbean here, but I just went through the common name thing in a different post or five:}). The seed is quite toxic making it perfect for the Magic Bean indoor plant that it's sold as...... ...... ... .. . . . what were they thinking? NOTE: A bit like cycad seed it can be treated and eaten but I'd suggest not leaving it where little hands can get at it...
