Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, my name is Chris and I live 15 miles south of San Francisco, California Currently my Myrica californica are suffering and dying off without me being able to find a cause or solution. The leaves turn brown and then the branches die one. by one. Does anyone have ideas as to how I can save them? Thank you for any help provided. Regards, Chris
2years. The fence is on the North side. They are getting full sun. Is maybe the 80 degree weather too much? I am in zone 10. They get 2.5 gallons of water per day via drip.
The amount of water seems somewhat excessive. I understand that they tolerate wet conditions, but only if the drainage is good. What kind of soil are they planted in? Since they also tolerate drought, you might want to cut back to watering once or twice a week.
Yes, drainage is very good. One of the plants has more shade and the same amount of water and is doing much better.
