Identification: My sister n law just gave me this plant

    Croton....Codiaeum variegatum.

    nope that isn't the plant just looked it up and it has tiny leaves mine is bigger and more colorful

    Sorry but it is a Croton...where did you source your example from?

    Definitely Codiaeum variegatum - I have that exact cultivar.

    ok can u tell me were to find this plant so I can read on it, for the place I go to plantcare.com shows a small leave plant for the name u both gave me and that isn't like this one

    the first plant is a croton second is my plant,,, nothing alike

    to lorax and K Baron, I finally found the right spot to find the plant u did tell me about, I am sorry that I doulted u but plantcare.com kept giving me the plant I put above.

    Codiaeum is a highly variably genus - you show a pair of entire-leaved ones; there are maple-leaf and forked-leaf varieties and there's also a neat one that narrows in the middle of the leaf like Quetzal feathers.

    The care instructions, however, are the same for all of them. Lots of sunlight, water when dry.

    there are hundreds of types of croton with a wide range of the leaf structure and coloration. both plants are croton.
