My pear tree has no leaves growing off the branches. It has some little flowers seeming to grow but not much. We had a very bad cold spell this winter. But it does have what seems to be branches starting of the lower part of the main trunk. They appear about 1 foot under the lowest branch. Please help. Is there anything I can do for it?

    Long-established specimen or recently planted?

If this is grafted it may be shooting from under the graft. That,s probably not what you want in your pear tree. I am not that familiar with fruit trees but it sounds to me as tho you may have lost it or at least the part you wanted.
