This was inherited from my grandmother's rockery. I've never had it flower very successfully (in zone 3b/4a - she was 6b). Flowers start low, bunched up like a peeled pomegranate, then shoot up on a rhubarb-like stalk and spread out. Flowers early in the spring, pale pink in colour and kind of bell-shaped, which you can't see in the photo - frost killed as usual. Leaves seem to stay green year round. Other than the lack of flowering success, it seems very happy in partial shade acidic soil. Seems to have grown from one to 4 plants clumped together. Thanks for any help!

A garden owner I once did some plantings for asked me to get Elephant Ear Daphne, took me awhile to realize this must have been Bergenia.

Funny, I had thought it might be called "elephant ears" but the images I googled were completely different! Add an 's' though, and "elephants ears" shows it. Thanks very much for the help everyone!
