    Hi:
I'm glad Daniel told me about this forum, I'm a fisheries biologist, but love to take photos of flowers. I'm looking forward posting photos here so I can learn to id flowers.
Here are a couple of photos I took on a hike to an alpine ridge.
    thanks

DSC00958 Ranunculus species?, Possibly Ranunculus karilinii (gelidus), common name Arctic Buttercup
DSC00959 Astragalus species; common name milk vetch, loco weed;too many possibles to id without having the plant in hand. Someone more familiar with alpine varieties might be able to pinpoint the species.
DSC00974 Campanula lasiocarpa, common name mountain harebell

DSC00950 might also be an Astragalus species.

Hi, After looking at DSC00957 for a bit, I thought I could make out some purple speckling on the petals. If that was case then my guess would be that it would be Saxifraga bronchialis or Spotted saxifrage. Then it would normally have 10 stamens but sometimes 5. Take a look at http://www.cwnp.org/photopgs/sdoc/sabronchialis.html for a comparison.

    Curious . . . what is a post-alpine plant? Are there also pre-alpine plants?

Michael, you must lead a busy life. Too busy to take a breath in between. Actually that was my first impression too. :)
