I have an old fig tree in my yard that has been doing fine for years, but last Jan. it was pruned, and now on several of the larger branches the bark is cracking and lifting up from the wood, which is spitting and looking very dry. I was wondering if this could be caused by drought, since I live in CA. I have had trouble with ground squirrels in my yard in the past, and I kept finding holes near the roots of the tree. The tree is budding out normally and the smaller branches are fine. Any help would be appreciated! ~M
