I live in Scottsdale AZ, Maricopa County. I have discovered spiney seeds or seed pods in my courtyard that are hard enough to stick to the heavy duty soles of work shoes without crushing. In the ten years of living here this is the first occurance of this. The burrs are the size of black peppercords with needle like protruberances. The courtyard has three species planted in it. Bouganviellia, Roses, and Hybiscus. Any ideas on what plant produces these type of pods or where I can research this?
    Respectfully,

    Hi Max,

I realize you posted this question some time ago, but if you haven't found the answer yet, you might want to contact your local extension service. It wouldn't be coming from what you have listed as planted in your garden.
